PAM SLATER-PRICE ENDORSES JACQUELINE ARSIVAUD FOR DISTRICT 5 BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, SAN DIEGO COUNTY
“Jacqueline will put the people of District 5 first, not big spending developers who are profiting on the destruction of what makes San Diego special and unique.”
Pam Slater-Price officially announced that she is endorsing Jacqueline Arsivaud for District 5, San Diego County Board of Supervisors. Having spent 20 years serving in that role, Slater-Price understands the qualities necessary for a successful supervisor. The supervisors manage a budget of $5 billion dollars and a staff of over 20,000. She noted “as a former supervisor myself for over 20 years, I know that land use policy is the one area where a County supervisor exerts the most influence on the quality of life of our citizens and where we spend most of our time”
Arsivaud herself, has spent the last 13 years immersed in the land use battles in the unincorporated communities, as the chair of the Elfin Forest/Harmony Grove Town Council and an elected member of the San Dieguito Planning Group. In addition, she started a non-profit that successfully negotiated an agreement between developers, the community and environmental groups to prevent a project from expanding into Elfin Forest while preserving in perpetuity, 100 acres of threatened habitat that would have been slated for development. Slater-Price noted “Jacqueline is a tireless fighter for her community” and “her in-depth knowledge of the ins and outs of land use, serving on the San Dieguito Planning Group but also successfully fighting general plan amendments throughout the County in her role as community leader, makes her uniquely qualified to serve the citizens of San Diego County.”
After leading a successful career as a technology executive both at Hewlett Packard and then as a start-up entrepreneur, Arsivaud combined her rare business acumen and her passion for preserving the unique qualities of San Diego County, as a community advocate and leader. Slater-Price added “I wholeheartedly endorse and support Jacqueline Arsivaud for County Supervisor."
Other notable endorsements include: Michael Beck, Planning Commissioner; Jerry Harmon, former Mayor of Escondido; George Courser, conservation chair, Sierra Club; Dan Silver, Executive Director of Endangered Habitats League; Eric Anderson former president of San Diego Farm Bureau, among numerous others.
