ENDORSEMENTS
“
Pam Slater-Price
Former Chairperson, San Diego County Board of Supervisors
Jacqueline is a tireless fighter for her community. As a former supervisor myself for over 20 years, I know that land use policy is the one area where a County supervisor exerts the most influence on the quality of life of our citizens and where we spend most of our time. Jacqueline’s in-depth knowledge of the ins and outs of land use, serving on the San Dieguito Planning Group but also successfully fighting general plan amendments throughout the County in her role as community leader, makes her uniquely qualified to serve the citizens of San Diego County. I fully support her candidacy.

Nona Barker
Captain (retired) Elfin Forest Harmony Grove Fire Department; President of EFHG Fire Board; Founder, Eagle Creek
I have personally worked with Jacqueline on many fire and community-related issues. Jacqueline has impressed me many times over. She has the knowledge and energy to never quit on the issues she cares about. And generally, those issues are my issues and should be yours too! Jacqueline is for: Responsible development in the unincorporated areas of our county and all that goes with it. Affordable housing, better transit, roads and fire safety. I endorse her heartily.

Kevin Barnard
Former Detective, San Diego Police Department; former President , Escondido Creek Conservancy
The 5th Supervisorial District voters are at a cross-roads. Will Northern San Diego County become another Orange County with sprawl, traffic, fouled waterways and beaches being our future? Or will we be smart enough to elect Jacqueline in 2018? Having been involved in development/land-use issues for the past 20 years in North County, I can tell you that Jacqueline is that rare person who brings an intense intelligence, endless energy, and a strong sense of fairness, to the complicated issues around how we will grow and build for the future. This is why I am endorsing Jacqueline for County Supervisor, 5th District.
“
Eric Anderson
Farmer; Land Use Chair, San Diego Farm Bureau; former President San Diego Farm Bureau
I very strongly endorse Jacqueline in 2018 for Supervisor! She has a strong record of accomplishment locally as a community builder and defender by creating innovative coalitions. As a North County farmer I have personally helped her work for the benefit of our Elfin Forest Community for over ten years as part of the Elfin Forest Harmony Grove Town council. I admire her hard work and dedication serving on the San Dieguito Planning group. She built coalitions with Harmony Grove and Eden Valley in the face of well-funded opportunistic high density GPAs that would be at the expense of the existing communities. She has shown a great capacity to craft approaches that work very well for the benefit of our community. She is the best candidate for Supervisor.

Dan Silver
Executive Director, Endangered Habitats League
Jacqueline Arsivaud-Benjamin is a valued colleague, fine human being, and community activist who has fought year after year for nature conservation and better planning. She brings a deep understanding of community needs, housing, and public safety, as well as fiscal responsibility. I trust her judgement and her integrity is unshakeable. Jacqueline has my wholehearted endorsement. With a County suffering for lack of vision and leadership, what a positive change she will make to the Board of Supervisors!
“
Michael Beck
San Diego County Planning Commissioner for District 2,
President, Endangered Habitats Conservancy
The citizens of the 5th District are incredibly fortunate to have such a knowledgeable, bright and hard working candidate running for County Supervisor. Jacqueline has spent countless volunteer hours working on environmental preservation, land use and community issues. She embraces challenge and knows how to get things done! Her energy, commitment, and intelligence will prove to be an invaluable asset to the citizens of the 5th District and the County of San Diego. Jacqueline has my strongest endorsement.
“
Duncan McFetridge
President, Cleveland National Forest Foundation
Sprawl is a cancer that is destroying the social and environmental fabric of life in San Diego. Jacqueline knows how to fight that cancer with transit-based city building and solve the housing crisis, climate crisis, and transportation crisis and unite business, labor and enviros to build a better San Diego for everyone
“
Lael Montgomery
Former Valley Center Design Review Committee Chair
There is no better candidate for 5th District Supervisor than Jacqueline Arsivaud! She is fair-minded, well-informed, and pro-active, a community leader who understands business, housing and land use, and has the work ethic and courage to serve the public interest. Jacqueline is a keenly intelligent and thoughtful listener who does her homework. Her innate smarts, executive experience, commitment to sensible planning and her dedication to the wider community will remind San Diego residents of what “public service” should mean. How refreshing!
